There are two versions. First from 1933, directed by KN's son; KS, who
directed quite a few films in 30s (and 1-2 in 40s, all were miserable
flops!!). The 2nd one you are talking about is from 1956 with some good songs
(pl. check G-list archives, where there was a thread on Bhanumati's
interpretation of "chintaamaNi", portraiting her as a very pious woman).
Well, raavoori satyanaaraayaNa was sort of "aasthaana" writer/lyricist for
"bharaNi". But on the other hand, bhaanumati ran away with the MD's credit,
though those wonderful compositions (teeyani veNuvu-loodeDi daarula parugiDu
raadhanuraa, mElaaye nee vEla, et al) were from TV (tOTakoora venkaTa)raaju
and addEpalli raamaaraavu.
btw, are those two verses (by eelapaaTa raghuraamayya: poojyula inTanu and
bhakti bhaavammu) from the traditional play or written for the film?
