tanslated in Sanskrit Digest. For those teluga members who do not subscribe to
sanskrit digest - A telugu version is in the end to justify this posting.

I am a great admirer of Kedar. This is not to upstage him in his
honest effort in bringing some Sanskrit to the uninitiated. What I am
doing is called 'dugdhasharkarAnyAyH' in Sanskrit. Following is my
bhAvArtha:
Due to their own talkativeness
Parrots and cuckoos get caught
But those silent storks do not
Silence,therefore,is happiness

Sanskrit is not only learned and admired by the English speaking
people, but French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean.....
Why, then, restrict yourself to only English translations of Sanskrit
material on this list? Girish has done a wonderful job of transporting
one Sanskrit couplet to French. Vive la France. The french part of
following few lines are already known by your smart readers. To my
dugdhasharkarAnyAyaH Girish has added wonderful flavor of safron,
'keshara'. So the nyAya has become 'dugdhasharkarAkesharanyAyaH'.
Anybody wants to add some almonds to it?

Well why not a telugu hot dish on the side to make the sweet taste better.
As usual it comes with all its aroma and spicy meter:
The meter is called ATaveladi - although it is well known telugu meter It
is defined in sanskrit as:
"ina gana trayambu indra dwayambu hamsapanchakambu Ataveladi"
three sUrya ganas and two indra ganas in the add lines, and five sUrya ganas
in the even lines - (ga-la and na ) are sUrya ganas and na-la, na-ga, sa-la,
bha,ra,ta are indra ganas. Normally there is a yati between the first letter
and first letter of the fourth gana in each line. Yati in telugu involves more
than stopping, the letters need to match. Sri Mohana Rao has described in
detail on gana vibhajana and yati in his beautiful articles:
