I was talking about this subject with a few friends only a couple of days
ago, about teenagers and music I mean. It was a few months ago. An Indian
woman was talking at a dinner party telling the listeners
how bad the lyrics are in the rock music and how bad an influence they
have on the Indian teenagers. She was suggesting that the teenagers be
made to listen to devotional music instead. I managed to talk to her
later and said that there are occasional problems in devotional music
too. In particular I asked her if she knows what "sri ramani kucha durga
vihare" means. She didn't. She didn't believe my translation either!

I notice something weird in Indian devotional music. Tell me if I am
wrong. The songs have numerous references to Devi's breasts: sri
vakshoja, kuchonnathe, sri ramani kucha etc. This devotion to amma vari
boobs is fascinating. Is this typical of Sanskrit(ized) literature? or is it
the same in other Indian languages?
