I hurriedly posted a follow-up this, which when I read back appears to
be a little offensive, although, I did not mean to.
Now, I think what Sitaramayya gaaru said may be correct. What I wrote
may be just another example of what is known as reverse-etymologizing,
or folk-etymology. May be.
By the way, Sitaramayya gaaru, I have plans of following up on your
post on bengaali influence on telugu names, sometime .. yes, sometime.
