Some sources : Library Of Congress (Last Resort)
Chicago Research Library (CRL)
Univ. of Wisconsin Library
and other established schools.
Go surfing on the WWW or netscape - under literature
you find FTP sites. Tap them under literature.
Just type author or title or in general TELUGU -
You see almost all the books upto recent publications.
I could check out the latest publications from the library
of congress. Once you get the title, go to your library or
the local library and ask them for an iter-library loan.
Done deal!
Recently Sreenivas Parachuri sent me a list of books
(rare). I could locate them in the library of congress.
A couple of URLs I can give you here:
1) Yahoo - Reference:Libraries
http://www.yahoo.com/Reference/Libraries/
2) Library of Congress World Wide Web Home Page
http://lcweb.loc.gov/homepage/lchp.html
Recently, I was doing some browsing on the WWW and got a couple of
interesting books by Dr. Velceru Narayana Rao garu. I could locate them
behind CAS buildings (i.e. Ohio State University). They are:
1) For The Lord of The Animals- Poems From The Telugu
(English Translations of Kalahastesvara Satakam of Dhurjati)
A fascinating work by Rao and Hank Heifetz.
Read it.
e.g. A piece in there:
A sword can turn into a flower
and fire into cool rain,
and the ocean can be as stable as earth,
an enemy the best of friends,
and poison can become the food of the gods
for the man who never grows tired of saying "Shiva",
Shiva! Your name,
O Shiva! O God of Kalahasti!
is the source of every power.
2) Siva's Warriors (The Basava Purana of Palkuriki Somanatha)
Translated By Velceru Naryana Rao and Gene H. Roghair.
I read a book review on the book digest. Exceptional translation
by Dr. Rao and Roghair. Unparallel work!
Probability of getting a book in Telugu from these libraries is very
high.
Flip side of your question Kamala! Are you asking where you can
obtain it in India? You can also find that out from the library
search with price, address, and yr of publication. Some times, the
translation of the title in English is also present.
Hope I answered your question.
