Sri V. Narayana Rao garu and others:
For the analysis on the origin of the word Boochi, dha-nya-vA-dA-lu.
I agree with your line of argument.
The origin of some of the names has been debated. A Telugu friend of
mine lives in Texas, his wife's name is Avanuja. I have always been
intrigued by this unique name, as I have not seen anyone else with such
a name. If Avanulu are Greek, Avanuja must mean the daughter of Greek
parents, or Greek-Indian parents, and must date back to the time of
Alexander. The appearance of such a name in Sanskrit literature implies
that the Greeks settlers of those days were received with respect
among the high castes of Hinduism of those days.
