(In trying to split my previous reply to this post into two, I
made a mistake in posting, so parts of this may have already appeared).

With its growing subscriber list, homepage, archives, links, and
the like, all posts to TELUSA will also be accessible to anybody with a web
browser. The point I want to make is that all the rules of netiquette and
the perils of the net postings will apply to most listserv postings also,
and especially to those of the archived and accessible variety (of which
TELUSA is one).

While private e-mails (as are private mails) are not accessible
to anybody else - unless the privacy being deliberately or
negligently violated by one of the parties, mails to listservs and
usenets become publicly accessible. I would recommend heeding the
warnings of Rospach even when posting to listservs. Everything one posts
is likely to be read by a lot of people, some that you don't know that
they are/or will be reading that post.
