Subject: looking for Sankranti lore ...

Hi.

I am planning to make a Sankranti home page. Please send me your
sankranti stories, recipies, photos, lyrics, everything. This page will be
publicized by Yahoo in its HOLIDAYS category. In case you do not have
access to a scanner, you can send your photos to me and I will scan them
in. I am looking for photos of nice muggulu, bommalu, and any other
Sankranti tradition you know.

If someone coould also clarify the importance of Ayappa and also
of the Tiruppavai as these relate to the month preceding Sankranti, I
would know how to include these topics on the page.

thanks very much!

p.s. I have found the lyrics for Tiruppavai online. Are the lyrics for
Tiruvempavai also available?

p.p.s. This is the same holiday as Pongal. I would like to know in
whcih languages/regions this holiday is called Pongal and how it is
celebrated.
