which brings me to a suggestion I have been considering for a few weeks
now: I think it is unfortunate that we have deprived the s.c.i.t. of all
discussion of telugu literature by forming this separate group. Now I know
many telusa members have no desire to read s.c.i.t. But I imagine that we
do not object to having our discussions and spontaneous poetry
compositions available to people outside of telusa. Am I right? Does
anyone object? How can we hae the best of both worlds? s.c.i.t. used to
operate as TELUGU-L in daily digest form (maybe it still does). All
e-mail sent to the daily digest was *automatically* copied to s.c.i.t.
newsgroup. If someone did not access the news, he or she could still read
TELUGU-L.
What if we copied all telusa mail to s.c.i.t.?? I think it would
be brilliant. FIrst of all, sc.i.t. readers wont' know what hit them,
among all the useless & inflammatory discussion there will be a rush of
not necessarily *useful* but certainly positively-spirited discussion.
Also more people could participate, without losing for telusa its main
advantage, namely freedom from s.c.i.t. Telusa has done a great thing by
bringing so many people out of the woodwork -- never imagined 60 people
would actively correspond on what had seemed like esoteric matters before
TELUSA made them daily discussion.
