Commenting on Nasy's and Aravinda's "requirements" for literary output,
I am temted to quote the well-known list of requirements of allasAni
peddana. I know the poem is known to many in the group, if not to
most.

nirupahati sthalambu, ramaNee priya dUtika tecci yiccu kap-
pura viDe, mAtma kimpayina bhOjana, mUyala manca, moppu tap-
parayu rasj~nu, lUha teliyangala lEkhaka pAThakOttamul,
dorakina kAka, yUraka kRtul raciyimpumaTanna SakyamE!

For the benefit of one of the people mentioned above, the list loosely
translates into:

a secluded place,
regular supply of pAn (make it coffee nowadays),
a hearty meal,
a uyyAla mancamu,
a discerning group of critics,
scribes, and readers who can fathom the author's intent

without all of these, could one just write? (so said he).

Whenever I type these mails from my home computer, and read them
later, I invariably find typos, truncated words, character glitches,
etc... I would blame them on a poor 1200 baud connection in particular,
and a poor modem connection in general. As another member of the group
said sometime ago, "I am a better writer than indicated by these".
