Dear friends on the Telusa list serv: I have been away from the screen for a
long time now. The semester-ending pressures and a couple of bad computer
glitches, in which I lost all my messages saved, are the main reasons.
Now I have nothing but my unreliable memory to depend upon to respond to some
of the issues raised during this period. I have enjoyed the discussion on
language and recently metrics and all the interesting samasyas.
Semester is drawing to a close,and my work is easing. I have plans to go to
India this winterbreak, but the plans are still tentative. I should be
actively in communication again. Meanwhile my apologies for this long silence.
